Sr. Systems Engineer - Cisco UC

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Systems Engineer is a Pre-Sale and Post-Sale position. This position is responsible for the following:
•Designing and deploying networking solutions (e.g. pbx and voice conferencing systems)
•Designing and delivery of highly available and highly scalable telephony infrastructure to service thousands of simultaneous calls
•High level technical support of related issues
•Capacity planning and utilization
•Tuning and monitoring of systems
•Working with vendors for related support and services
•Ability to support, administer and manage IPT environment documentation
•Design and implementation experience with Cisco Voice over IP and IP Telephony technology
•Work with Cisco Call Manager, and Cisco Unity Unified Messaging.
SKILLS REQUIRED
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent desired
•Minimum Technical Certification: Cisco CCNP & CCVP (or ability to possess CCVP within 3 months of joining company)
•Knowledge of IP Telephony protocol (MGCP H.323 SIP SCCP)
•Knowledge of STP MPLS OSPF VRRP/HSRP
•Experience with the following applications is a plus; Cisco MeetingPlace, Cisco IPCC, Cisco Emergency Responder, Video Conferencing technology. CCIE Voice and/or IPCC Express Specialist certification a major plus
•Self starter who has the drive and initiative to manage activities, projects, and time to accomplish assigned tasks within schedule and budget
•A drive to proactively build and maintain rock solid enterprise systems
•An ability to make rapid and concise decisions
•Ability to translate telephony jargon to diverse groups of technical and non- technical users
•Three years experience in network administration (routers, switches, VPN, etc.)
•Strong knowledge troubleshooting all layers of OSI
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to travel for customer visits about 50% of the time. This is a remote position working from home.
